NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's tennis team was blanked by cross-town Northern
Athletics Conference rival Milwaukee School of Engineering (8-8,
8-1 NAC) 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Princeton Club.
The Raiders swept all nine flights from the Warriors, who were
forced to forfeit matches at No. 5 and 6 singles and also No. 3
doubles.
MSOE's Dustin Holzhauer topped WLC's Mike Reimer (Sheboygan,
Wis./South) 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Jon Jossart (Brookfield,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) fell at No. 2 singles to Mark Schadler
6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, David Parez (Milwaukee, Wis./Thomas
More) was downed 6-1, 6-0 by Eric Klamrowski. Matt Pautz (Two
Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) fell to Steven Smith 6-0, 6-0 at
No. 4 singles.
In doubles play, Reimer and Jossart were defeated by Schadler
and Holzhauer 8-1. Parez and Pautz also were taken down 8-1 by
Scarpelli and Matsuura.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-9, 0-8 NAC) returns to the courts tomorrow
against NAC opponent Marian University (0-10, 0-6 NAC). Matches are
scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at the Princeton Club.
