NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's tennis team dropped both of its Northern Athletics
Conference dual matches to Dominican University and Concordia
University Chicago 9-0 Saturday at the Princeton Club.
Mike Reimer (Sheboygan, Wis./South) lost both of his No. 1
singles matches, 6-0, 6-0 to Keven Amarantos of Dominican and 6-0,
6-1 to Concordia Chicago's Jeff Smith. In No. 2 singles, Jon
Jossart (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) fell 6-0, 6-0 to the
Stars' Gregory Tabaka and 6-0, 6-0 to CUC's Nathan Wingfield.
David Parez (Milwaukee, Wis./Thomas More) took the court in No.
3 singles against Matt Sarantopoulos of Dominican and fell 6-1,
6-0, while also falling in his second match to Concordia Chicago's
Alex Tarullo, 6-0, 6-0. Matt Pautz (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc
Lutheran) competed at No. 4 singles and was defeated by Marco
Colapietro of Dominican and the Cougars' Thein Van, 6-0, 6-0.
Rounding out the singles matches at No. 5, Aaron Vanderhyde
(Aurora, Colo./Homeschooled) lost a pair of 6-1 games to the Stars'
Efrain Rodriguez and later fell to Tim Staffeld of Concordia
Chicago 6-0, 6-0. The Warriors lost both of their No. 6 singles
matches due to forfeit.
In doubles action, the team of Reimer and Jossart lost 8-0 to
Amarantos and Tabaka of Dominican. In No. 2 doubles, Parez and
Pautz fell to Sarantopoulos and Colapietro 8-0.
Against CUC, Reimer and Jossart fell 8-1 to Smith and Wingfield,
while the No. 2 team of Parez and Pautz fell Tarullo and Termini,
8-1.
WLC also lost both of its No. 3 doubles matches due to
forfeit.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-3, 0-3 NAC) will return to the court
Wednesday as it competes against NAC rival Concordia University
Wisconsin at North Shore Country Club at 4 p.m. in Mequon Wis.
