Warriors drop home-opening NAC match to rival CUW

Box score NEW BERLIN, Wis. -

The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team dropped a Northern Athletics Conference dual match on Wednesday 8-1 against rival Concordia Wisconsin at the Princeton Club in New Berlin, Wis.

Freshman Lee Johnson (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) remained perfect at #1 singles in conference play for the Warriors after he defeated the Falcons Brian Tresedder in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

Unfortunately for WLC, that would be the only winning match of the day as CUW (4-10, 1-0 NAC) won the remaining five singles matches and three doubles matches to go home with the 8-1 victory. The closest doubles match for the Warriors was an 8-2 defeat at #3 doubles by the team of David Parez (Milwaukee, Wis./Thomas More) and Matt Pautz (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran).

The Warriors (0-5, 0-4 NAC) will look for their first win of the season on Saturday when they host two NAC dual matches at the Princeton Club. WLC will host Aurora (2-4, 2-1 NAC) at 10 a.m., followed by a match against Rockford (0-4, 0-3 NAC) at 2 p.m.
