NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's tennis team dropped a non-conference dual match to
Carroll, 9-0, Saturday morning at Moorland Park Tennis Center.
The Pioneers (2-2) began the match by winning all three doubles
flights over the Warriors by scores of 8-2, 8-1, and 8-2,
respectively. WLC was unable to win any singles flights as CU won
all six matches in two-set fashion. After dropping their opening
set 6-0, junior Ryan Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) and sophomore
Adam Breister (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) battled back
but were unable to send the match into a third set as they fell 7-5
and 6-4 at #2 and #5, respectively.
The Warriors (0-2) return to the courts Saturday, March 2 when
they play two more non-conference matches against Dubuque (1-4) and
Cornell (2-0). The matches will take place at the Frank Farber
Tennis Courts in Dubuque, Iowa.
