KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's tennis team fell in a non-conference dual match to Carthage,
9-0, Sunday morning at the East Side Tennis & Racquet Club in
Kenosha, Wis.
The Red Men (8-7) won all six singles flights over the Warriors.
WLC's closest contested match during singles competition came at
No. 1 where sophomore Lee Johnson (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) narrowly fell in two sets to Jeff Lotz Jr., 6-4, 6-4.
Carthage was victorious in all three doubles matches as well.
The No. 1 doubles match between Johnson and junior Ryan Sallmann
(Waukesha, Wis./West) and Lotz Jr. and Alex Boomgarden was highly
contested and ended 8-6 in favor of the Red Men.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-5, 3-0 NAC) will battle conference
opponents Dominican (2-7, 2-2 NAC) and Concordia Chicago (3-2, 2-2
NAC) at the Princeton Club in New Berlin, Wis., next Saturday,
April 20. Matches are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
