Men's Tennis Suffers First Conference Loss

NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team suffered its first conference loss of the season Sunday, falling in its final home match of the regular season to the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders, 6-3, at the Princeton Club.

Sophomore Lee Johnson (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) maintained his perfect conference record at No. 1 singles by defeating Eric Klamrowski, 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Zach Birner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) collected the Warriors' other victory at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Reekah Delfanian. At No. 4 singles, sophomore Luke Schroeder(Waukesha, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) dropped a tough three-set match to Andrew Kosasih, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Johnson and junior Ryan Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) knocked off Eric Klamrowski and Tyler Hannen, 8-5. The Raiders won the final two doubles matches by scores of 8-0 and 8-1, respectively.

Wisconsin Lutheran (6-6, 5-1 NAC) returns to action on Wednesday when it faces conference rival Concordia University Wisconsin (8-9, 5-0 NAC) in an 8 p.m. contest at the Paley Tennis Center in Milwaukee.
