Conference-Leading Falcons Top Warriors, 7-2

MILWAUKEE - Concordia University Wisconsin maintained its perfect Northern Athletics Conference record by defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College, 7-2, on Wednesday at the Paley Tennis Center.

The Falcons (10-9, 6-0 NAC) won five of six matches during singles competition. The Warriors received a win at No. 5 singles when sophomore Jeremy Vanderhyde (Aurora, Colo./Rocky Mountain Lutheran) defeated CUW's Tanner Hahn, 3-6, 7-5, 12-10. Sophomore Lee Johnson(Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) dropped a tough three-set match to Russell Johnson at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Johnson and junior Ryan Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) claimed an 8-4 win over Skip Turner and Taylor Shaffer. WLC fell in the final two doubles matches by identical closely contested scores of 8-5.

Wisconsin Lutheran (6-7, 5-2 NAC) will look to bounce back from its second straight conference defeat on Saturday when it plays its final two conference duals of the season. WLC will play at Aurora University (7-7, 6-1 NAC) at 10 a.m., before concluding the league slate at Rockford College (0-7, 0-7 NAC) at 2 p.m.
