WLC Suffers Third Straight Setback

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team was handed its third loss in as many matches during its spring trip to Orlando in a 7-2 non-conference setback against Colby-Sawyer Wednesday. 

The Warriors (1-5) lost all three doubles matches before picking up a pair of singles victories. Lee Johnson (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) outlasted the Chargers' (4-4) Nate Taschereau 5-7, 6-3 (10-7) at No. 1 singles. Zach Birner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) hung on for a 6-4, 6-7 (1-7) (11-9) victory over Cass McCann at No. 3 singles.

Derek Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) was edged 6-4, 6-4 by Dean Boodakian at No. 4 singles.

WLC's second scheduled match of the day against Principia was canceled due to rain and will not be rescheduled. 

Wisconsin Lutheran continues its spring trip matches Thursday when it meets Chicago State (2-13) at 6:30 p.m. CT.
