Johnson Nets Season's First NACC Weekly Award

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Wisconsin Lutheran College senior Lee Johnson (Hales Corners, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of April 20-26, as selected by the league's sports information directors. This is the first conference weekly award of the season for the reigning NACC Player of the Year and fourth of his career.

Johnson completed an undefeated NACC regular season at No. 1 singles with two wins Saturday over Dominican (6-0, 6-4) and Concordia Chicago (6-0, 6-0) to help the Warriors clinch the fourth seed in the NACC Tournament. He also partnered with teammate Zach Birner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) at No. 1 doubles to win twice and finish 6-2 in conference play.

Johnson and the No. 4 Warriors (10-6) will face No. 1 Edgewood (14-10) in Saturday's NACC Tournament Semifinal at 12:15 p.m. at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison. The Eagles defeated WLC 8-1 in their only meeting to date this season on March 28.
