Warriors Tripped Up By Storm, Gorloks

GALESBURG, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team was defeated by Simpson 6-3 and Webster 7-2 Saturday in non-conference play at the Lakeside Recreation Facility.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Simpson swept all three doubles matches from the Warriors to begin play by scores of 8-5, 8-1, and by default.
• Derek Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) earned his first victory of the season at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).
• Ben Wordell (Lake Mills, Wis./Christian Academy Japan) won a 7-5, 6-0 decision at No. 3 and Ryan Eastman (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) prevailed 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12-10) at No. 5.
• Simpson was victorious at No. 2 and No. 4 singles and won No. 6 by default to take the match 6-3.
• Sallmann and Zach Birner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) won at the No. 1 doubles position 9-7, before Webster recieved wins at the No. 2 spot 8-3 and No. 3 by default.
• Wordell picked up the lone singles victory for WLC, winning at the No. 3 spot 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-5).
