Warriors Sweep Red Hawks For Season's First Win

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team earned its first victory of the 2016 season by sweeping non-conference opponent Ripon 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at Elite Sports Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Warriors won with ease in their opening doubles matches against Ripon as Derek Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) and Ben Wordell (Lake Mills, Wis./Christian Academy Japan) cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 1.
• Zach Briner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) and Paul Fitzgerald (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) claimed an 8-1 victory at No. 2, and Ryan Eastman (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and John Lewinski (Streamwood, Ill./Walther Lutheran) finished off the doubles sweep with a default win at No. 3.
• WLC also swept through singles play as Sallmann (3-6, 6-4, 11-9), Birner (6-0, 6-1), Wordell (6-0, 6-1), Fitzgerald (6-1, 6-1), Eastman (6-0, 6-1), and Lewinski (Default) were all victorious at No. 1 through No. 6 singles.
