MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team's season came to an end on Sunday afternoon as the fourth-seeded Warriors fell 5-1 to top-seeded and eventual NACC Tournament champion Edgewood in a NACC Tournament semifinal matchup at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Warriors, who've reached the NACC Tournament for the fourth straight year, finish their season 7-12 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles won the first two matches of doubles play, topping the Warriors at No. 2, 8-4 and then at No. 1, 8-1.
- The Warriors got on the board at No. 3 when the team of Paul Fitzgerald (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and Ryan Eastman (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) won 8-6.
- Edgewood won the first three matches in singles play. Ben Wordell (Lake Mills, Wis./Christian Academy Japan) came up short 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3. Derek Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) fell 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 at No. 1, and Zach Birner (Neenah, Wis./Luther Preparatory) dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 2.
- Matches at No. 4 through No. 6 singles were in the second set, but went unfinished when the match came to a close.
- EC then went on to defeat second-seeded Concordia Wisconsin 5-2 to claim its second straight NACC Tournament championship.
- WLC graduates four players from its roster in Lee Johnson's first season as head coach.
