Warriors Clinch NACC Tournament Berth After Sweeping Muskies

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Warriors suffered their third straight loss to the Falcons in the morning match, falling 9-0. Derek Sallmann (Waukesha, Wis./West) and Ben Wordell (Mequon, Wis./Christian Academy in Japan) battled at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but fell in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 and 7-5, 6-3, respectively.
• Wisconsin Lutheran rebounded to win its afternoon match over Lakeland, 9-0. WLC controlled doubles play with wins by Sallmann and Ben Wordell (8-0), Matt Plaski (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Jonathan Wordell (Mequon, Wis./Christian Academy in Japan) (9-7), and Jake Larson (McHenry, Ill./Faith Lutheran) and David Ullerich (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) (8-2).
• The Warriors also swept through singles action, winning five flights in straight sets. Sallmann (6-2, 6-2), Ben Wordell (6-1, 6-0), Jonathan Wordell (6-7, 6-1, 10-8), Plaski (6-2, 6-2), Ullerich (6-1, 6-0), and Larson (6-0, 6-1) were each victorious.
