Warriors Doubled Up By Sabres, 6-3

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to the Marian Sabres in NACC play Saturday morning at the Princeton Club.

  • Final Score: Marian 6, Wisconsin Lutheran 3
  • Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-11, 1-7 NACC), Marian (3-7, 3-4 NACC)
  • Location: Princeton Club, New Berlin, Wis.

  • The Warriors No. 1 doubles team of Jonny Wordell (Mequon, Wis.) and Matt Plaski (Milwaukee, Wis.) picked up a hard-fought 9-7 tiebreak win to start doubles action. The Stars were victorious at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions.
  • Plaski was awarded a win at No. 2 singles via retirement in the second set. It was his first NACC singles win of the year. Tyler Fahney (Hartford, Wis.) also earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles for his first conference win of the season. The Sabres were victorious in the other four singles matches to secure the 6-3 win.

  • The Warriors wrap up their 2019 schedule Thursday when they host Lakeland (1-10, 1-5 NACC) in their final NACC dual of the season at 4:00 p.m.
