Warriors Fall In Home Opener To Knights

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team fell in its 2020 home opener to Calvin 9-0 in non-conference action on Saturday night at the Princeton Club.

  • Final Score: Calvin 9, Wisconsin Lutheran 0
  • Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-4), Calvin (3-2)
  • Location: Princeton Club, New Berlin, Wis.

  • Calvin claimed a pair of 8-1 wins over the Warriors to start doubles play before closing out No. 3 with an 8-0 victory. The Knights also won all six singles flights in straight sets to pickup the win over WLC.
  • Senior Jonathan Wordell (Mequon, Wis.), senior Jake Stellick (Geneva, Ill.), junior Tyler Fahney (Hartford, Wis.), and sophomore Logan Ascher (Waukesha, Wis.) each won a game for Wisconsin Lutheran in singles play.

  • The Warriors have a few weeks off before beginning conference play on Saturday, March 21 at Lakeland (0-2). First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Sports Core in Kohler.
