Scarlet Hawks Double-Up WLC, 6-3

CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 road decision to the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks on Saturday in a NACC dual match played at XS Tennis.

• Final Score: Illinois Tech 6, Wisconsin Lutheran 3
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (5-6, 4-3 NACC), Illinois Tech (6-3, 5-1 NACC)
• Location: XS Tennis, Chicago, Ill.

• The Scarlet Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Warriors after winning all three doubles matches from the Warriors. WLC's No. 3 team of sophomore Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) and freshman Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) fell in a close 8-6 contest. 
• IIT won the first three flights of singles play in straight sets before Wisconsin Lutheran took home wins at the last three positions.
• Hawley was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at No. 4 singles, Schmidt earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles, and sophomore Gabrielle Medema (Appleton, Wis.) triumphed at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win.
• The win by Schmidt moved her mark to a perfect 7-0 in NACC singles matches.

• The Warriors host two matches on Sunday against MSOE (6-4, 5-1 NACC) and UW-Stout (2-3) at Elite Sports Club in Glendale. The NACC contest versus the Raiders starts at 9 a.m. and the Blue Devils follow at 12 p.m.
