Men's Tennis Falls Twice On Saturday In Iowa

DAVENPORT, Iowa (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team suffered two close non-conference defeats on Saturday at West High School. The Warriors fell 4-3 to host St. Ambrose, before being edged 5-4 to Buena Vista.

• The Fighting Bees edged the Warriors in all three flights of doubles play. WLC's No. 3 team of sophomore Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) and freshman Mason Wolf (Oconomowoc, Wis.) fell in a tight match 7-6 (7-2).
• Wisconsin Lutheran collected three wins in singles competition. Freshman Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Kannenberg collected a 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 win at No. 3, and freshman Steffen Lipski (Manitowoc, Wis.) was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at No. 4.
• The Warriors' No. 1 doubles team of senior Evan Sadowski (New Berlin, Wis.) and Newberg picked up an 8-5 win over the Beavers. BVU edged WLC in the other two doubles contests, 8-5 and 8-4.
• Sadowski, Newberg, and Kannenberg were each victorious in singles play. Sadowski was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at No. 1. Newberg notched a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2, and Kannenberg collected a 7-5, 2-6, 10-5 win at No. 4.

• The Warriors play an exhibition match on Thursday against Olivet Nazarene (1-3) at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
