Illinois Tech Sweeps Wisconsin Lutheran

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team fell 9-0 in a NACC matchup against visiting Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Princeton Club.

  • Final Score: Illinois Tech 9, Wisconsin Lutheran 0
  • Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-6, 0-3 NACC), Illinois Tech (4-0, 4-0 NACC)
  • Location: Princeton Club, New Berlin, Wis.

  • The Scarlet Hawks won all three doubles matches against the Warriors by scores of 8-0, 8-1, and 8-2. The duo of sophomore Josh Hennen (Slinger, Wis.) and sophomore Stu Woller (Mount Horeb, Wis.) won two games at No. 3 doubles.
  • Illinois Tech also swept singles play in straight sets. Freshman Bryce Halvorsen (Fredonia, Wis.) and Woller both won a pair of games but both lost in two sets.

  • The Scarlet Hawks won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles behind the team of Brody Croonquist and Jordan Lauer. Alann Torres won 6-0, 6-0 at IIT's top singles spot.

  • The Warriors return to the courts on Sunday for another NACC dual against MSOE (3-6, 2-1 NACC). Opening serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Elite Sports Club-North Shore in Glendale.
