Men's Tennis Downed By MSOE

GLENDALE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team fell 8-1 to MSOE on Sunday afternoon at Elite Sports Club-North Shore in Glendale. 

  • Final Score: MSOE 8, Wisconsin Lutheran 1
  • Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-7, 0-4 NACC), MSOE (4-6, 3-1 NACC)
  • Location: Elite Sports Club-North Shore, Glendale, Wis.

  • MSOE swept the doubles matches against the Warriors by scores of 8-1, 8-2, and 8-6. The No. 3 doubles team of sophomore Josh Hennen (Slinger, Wis.) and sophomore Stu Woller (Mount Horeb, Wis.) won six games.
  • In singles play, the Raiders picked up wins at the first four spots. Freshman Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) won at No. 5 singles behind scores of 3-6, 6-1, and 10-6 for his fifth win of the season. Hennen fell at No. 6 singles 7-6, 6-2. Freshman Bryce Halvorsen (Fredonia, Wis.) won a couple of games but lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

  • Alec Dam won 6-1, 6-1 for the Raiders at No. 1 singles and was an 8-1 winner at No. 1 doubles with teammate Parker Kuhlman.

  • The Warriors return to the courts next Sunday for a NACC matchup at Marian (0-4, 0-4 NACC). First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
