(WLCSports.com) – A 21-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the first half brought the Wisconsin Lutheran College football team's deficit within a score at halftime, but host Martin Luther scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to hand the Warriors a 42-28 defeat on Saturday at the MLC Bowl. It was the first-ever meeting between the two Lutheran-affiliated schools.

- The Warriors' 13-play, 54-yard opening drive was stopped on downs at the Knights' 21-yard line. Martin Luther then drove 79 yards and scored the first points of the game on a 30-yard touchdown run with 1:24 on the first-quarter clock.
- Following a WLC punt, MLC scored on a 55-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter for a 14-0 lead.
- Wisconsin Lutheran broke through with its first score with just over six and a half minutes left in the second quarter. After a 43-yard punt return from junior Jordan Jewell (Hartford, Wis.), freshman Raymond Forman (New Orleans, La.) capped a short three-play drive with a two-yard touchdown run.
- The Green and White forced a Knights punt on their next possession, but it was muffed deep in the visitor's territory. Martin Luther went ahead by two scores after a seven-yard touchdown run on the drive's first play.
- With just 1:34 to work with on the second-quarter clock, the Warriors drove 55 yards on seven plays, capped by a 21-yard touchdown throw from senior Nick Yockey (Gig Harbor, Wash.) to sophomore Trevion Green (Miami, Fla.) as time expired.
- MLC took the opening kickoff of the second half and went 67 yards, capped by a 37-yard touchdown run.
- WLC turned the ball over on its next two third-quarter possessions and Martin Luther capitalized off both of them with a 10-yard touchdown run and a three-yard TD pass.
- Trailing 42-14 entering the fourth quarter, sophomore quarterback Matthew Davis (Lake Mills, Wis.) engineered two scoring drives that ended in touchdown receptions of 14 yards to Jewell and 22 yards to senior Chris Nickson (Sterling Heights, Mich.).
- Wisconsin Lutheran, which finished with 356 yards of total offense, had a combined 240 passing yards from Yockey and Davis.
- Forman finished with 67 yards on the ground and his first collegiate touchdown. Senior Justin Parbs (Brookfield, Wis.) caught six passes for 44 yards.
- Defensively, freshman Savon Goodwin (New Orleans, La.) and senior Errick Brooks (Jacksonville, N.C.) recorded 12 and 10 tackles, respectively.
- The Warriors begin the NACC portion of their schedule next Saturday at Lakeland (2-0). Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Taylor Memorial Field in Plymouth.
