Warriors Sweep Cougars For First NACC Win

JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing skid by sweeping Concordia Chicago 9-0 on Saturday afternoon for its first sweep and conference win of the season at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club.

  • The Warriors rolled through doubles play with three convincing victories. Senior Evan Sadowski (New Berlin, Wis.) and freshman Asa White (Farmington, N.M.) partnered for the first time to win 8-2 at No. 1. Sophomore Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) and junior Josh Hennen (Slinger, Wis.) were 8-1 winners playing for the first time together at No. 2, and sophomores Bryce Halvorsen (Fredonia, Wis.) and Matt Bass (Village of Lakewood, Ill.) shutout their opponents 8-0 at No. 3.
  • Sadowski notched his seventh singles win of the season with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles. White recorded his team-leading eighth victory of the year at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Kannenberg, Halvorsen, and Bass swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6, respectively. Hennen nearly was perfect at No. 5, winning 6-0, 6-1. 

  • The Warriors are back at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. NACC match against Marian (0-3, 0-2 NACC).
