Men's Tennis Shutout By Scarlet Hawks

CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team suffered its first NACC sweep on Saturday, falling to league unbeaten leader Illinois Tech 9-0 at XS Tennis. The loss snapped WLC's four-match conference winning streak.

  • The Scarlet Hawks handed the Warriors three defeats in doubles play. WLC's No. 1 team of senior Evan Sadowski (New Berlin, Wis.) and freshman Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) dropped a hard-fought 8-5 decision. 
  • IIT won all six singles matches in straights sets over WLC. Wisconsin Lutheran's closest contested match came at No. 1 singles where Sadowski suffered his first NACC loss 6-4, 6-1.

  • The Warriors play their final NACC match of the season tomorrow when they host MSOE (6-11, 4-1 NACC) at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. First serve is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. WLC can secure the third seed in the NACC Tournament with a win over the Raiders.
