Men's Tennis Topples Marian For Second Straight Sweep

JACKSON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team secured its second straight sweep in as many days on Sunday, defeating Marian 9-0 in a NACC match at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (7-6, 2-1 NACC), Marian (0-4, 0-3 NACC)
• Location: Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club, Jackson, Wis.

• The Warriors mowed through doubles play over the Sabres with three victories. Senior Evan Sadowski (New Berlin, Wis.) and freshman Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) partnered to win 8-5 at No. 1. Sophomore Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) and freshman Asa White (Farmington, N.M.) were 8-1 winners playing at No. 2, and sophomores Bryce Halvorsen (Fredonia, Wis.) and Matt Bass (Village of Lakewood, Ill.) took an 8-6 victory at No. 3.
• Sadowski secured his eighth singles win of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Newberg won at No. 2 singles with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory. White recorded his team-leading ninth victory of the year at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph. Halvorsen and junior Josh Hennen (Slinger, Wis.) swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Kannenberg was also dominant at No. 4 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2.

• The Warriors are back on the courts next weekend for two matches, starting with a NACC road dual against Lakeland (0-9, 0-4 NACC) on Saturday at the Sports Core in Kohler. First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m.
