Wisconsin Lutheran Falls To MSOE In NACC Finale

WLC next hosts CUW in NACC Tournament

Box Score RACINE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College closed out its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule on Sunday with a 7-2 loss to Milwaukee School of Engineering at LifeSport Tennis Club. 

The Warriors (9-12, 4-3 NACC), whose three conference losses have come against teams who shared the NACC title, dropped their eighth straight match in the series to the Raiders (10-10, 6-1 NACC).

MSOE carried a 3-0 lead over WLC into singles competition after winning all three doubles contests by scores of 8-3, 8-0, and 8-5.

Wisconsin Lutheran picked up a pair of three-set tiebreaker singles wins over Milwaukee School of Engineering. Sophomore Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) outlasted Joe Chong 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 at No. 1 for his fourth NACC singles win over season. Junior Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) collected a 1-6, 6-2, 10-7 victory over Alex Nakasato at No. 3 also for his fourth conference win. The Raiders won the remaining four singles bouts in straight sets.

The Warriors will make their third straight appearance in the NACC Tournament on Monday, April 24. Fourth-seeded WLC will host fifth-seeded Concordia Wisconsin (6-13, 3-4 NACC) in a first round matchup. Wisconsin Lutheran edged CUW 5-4 in their lone regular season meeting on March 19.
