MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College's
Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) has been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the week of January 5-11, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals. This is his second career conference indoor weekly award.
Osuala, a senior, broke the school record in the 60m while winning both the 60m and 200m on Saturday at the University of Chicago Phoenix Invitational. The senior topped the 21-competitor field in the 60m prelims with a school-record time of 6.93 seconds. He returned to win the 60m final in an even faster school-record time of 6.86 seconds. In the 200m, Osuala won the 26-competitor event with a personal-best time of 22.68 seconds.
The Warriors next compete on Saturday, January 17, at the Firebird First at Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center Fieldhouse in Kenosha. Events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
