Pioneers power past Warriors on Senior Night

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team was defeated by the UW-Platteville Pioneers 4-0 in a non-conference game on Friday night in the Warriors' final home game of the regular season at Warrior Field.

UW-Platteville (13-2-1) netted two first-half goals to mount a 2-0 lead over Wisconsin Lutheran, which honored senior Edgar Albarran (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) prior to the start of the match.

The Pioneers tallied goals in 53rd and 83rd minute of the second half for the final 4-0 margin. B.J. Gottschlich scored a goal and assisted on two others to pace Platteville offensively.

WLC managed just three shot attempts, all on goal, in the contest, compared to 35 attempted by UW-Platteville. Junior goalkeeper Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made 11 saves in the game for the Warriors.

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-11, 3-7 NAC) plays its final game of the regular season on Tuesday when it travels to Rockford College for a NAC showdown with the Regents at 4 p.m.
