MILWAUKEE - Dennis Benthin found the back of
the net 31 seconds into overtime to lead the Viterbo University
V-Hawks to a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College on
Saturday in a non-conference contest at Warrior Field.
Benthin broke a scoreless overtime tie at the 90:31 mark when he
scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Kyle Spencer. Josh
Lines finished with two saves to earn the shutout victory for
Viterbo (3-3), which finished with 18 shots in the game.
Senior Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) recorded 11
saves in the contest for the Warriors, who were held to five shot
attempts. Sophomore Trevor Schwartz (Lake Geneva, Wis./Shoreland
Lutheran) led WLC with two shots.
Saturday marked the second time already this season that the
Warriors have played in an overtime game.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-2-1, 0-1 NAC) travels to Waukesha, Wis.,
on Tuesday for a non-conference clash with Carroll University at 7
p.m.
