Rosenow's Long Jump Record Leads Warriors In Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (WLCSports.com) – Leah Rosenow (Temecula, Calif.) set a new school record in the long jump to headline the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's outdoor track & field team Saturday at the Dubuque Invitational. The Warriors finished sixth out of 13 scoring teams with 39 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Rosenow set a new school record for the long jump with a distance of 5.26 meters, which was good for a fifth-place finish in the event. She also placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 1:00.99.
  • The Warriors 4x400-meter relay team finished second in a time of 4:20.99.
  • Sami Huebner (Sun Prairie, Wis.) placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.85 and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.90 seconds.
  • Hannah Weide (New Berlin, Wis.) was fourth in the 1500-meter run in a time of 5:05.95 and sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:55.38.
  • Siobhan Heiss (Beloit, Wis.) finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.00.
  • Kristina Schuette (Manitowoc, Wis.) ran to a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 14:27.97.
  • Brooke Malchow (Calhan, Neb.) placed eighth in the 800-meter run in a personal-record time of 2:36.99.
  • Bethany Wagenknecht (Yorba Linda, Calif.) ran a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:36.23, Kailey Acra (Dupo, Ill.) finished the 1,500-meter run in a personal record of 5:51.78, Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) raced to a personal best in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:05.02, and Kaylyn Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) leaped a distance of 4.75 meters, good for a personal best.

FOR THE FOES

  • Host Dubuque scored 193 points to win the 13-team scoring title by 28 points over runner-up St. Cloud State.
  • Edgewood (19 points) and Rockford (10 points) were the only other NACC teams represented at the meet.

UP NEXT

  • The Warriors will compete next Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative Meet. Events begin at 11:00 a.m. on the Rex Foster Track.
