WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College placed third with 71 points at the Carroll Alumni & Open on Saturday at Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex.
Leading the Warriors were a pair of event winners. Freshman
Maddie Metz (Chino Valley, Ariz.) won the 1500m in 5:18.08, while junior
Marin Schibbelhut (Onalaska, Wis.) captured the High Jump title with a clearance of 1.40m.
WLC also posted three runner-up finishes. Junior
Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) took second in the 400m in 1:04.86, freshman
Lucy Luedtke (Marshfield, Wis.) finished second in the 400m Hurdles in 1:14.86, and freshman
Jaci Volp (Fremont, Wis.) was second in the High Jump at 1.25m.
Two more podium finishes came from the field events, as senior
Leah Schmidt (Bonduel, Wis.) placed third in the Discus with a throw of 32.87m and sophomore
Aubrey Kadolph (Milwaukee, Wis.) took third in the Javelin at 29.75m.
Junior
Madelyn Vanderhoof (Watertown, Wis.) added a fifth-place finish in the High Jump at 1.20m.
Sixth-place efforts came from Luedtke in the 100m (13.87) and sophomore
Amelia Kelley (Appleton, Wis.) in the Pole Vault (2.75m).
Schmidt also placed seventh in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.50m, while senior
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain) was seventh in the Javelin at 19.85m.
Rounding out the scorers, freshman
Audra Kopfer (Columbus, Wis.) finished eighth in the Discus with a throw of 29.11m.
Meet host Carroll scored 272 points to win the women's team title.
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts the Green & White Invite on Thursday, April 2 at Raabe Stadium. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
