Warriors Fall To Loras In Non-Conference Action

HARTLAND, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 non-conference match to the Loras Duhawks on Saturday at the Wisconsin Athletic Club.

• Final Score: Loras 7, Wisconsin Lutheran 2
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (2-6), Loras (6-4)
• Location: Wisconsin Athletic Club, Hartland, Wis.

• The Duhawks picked up wins in two of the three doubles matches over the Warriors. WLC's No. 3 team of freshmen Gabrielle Medema (Appleton, Wis.) and Alex Sturm (Hartland, Wis.) recorded an 8-6 win to improve to 3-0 in that slot on the season.
• Loras won four of the six singles flights in straight sets, but freshmen Jena Smith (Lake Mills, Wis.) earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 for her fourth win of the year. Freshmen Sky Pope (Macon, Ga.) pushed her opponent to three sets at No. 6, but fell 6-0, 5-7, 10-8.  

• Loras' top singles player, Audrey Hinz, won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 and 8-3 with her partner Lauren Diiulio at No. 1 doubles. 

• The Warriors continue non-conference play next Saturday when they host St. Scholastica (0-2) at the Wisconsin Athletic Club in Hartland.
