Warriors Finish Second With Six Event Wins At Meet For Milwaukee

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team won six events en route to a second-place finish on Saturday at the Meet For Milwaukee at Raabe Stadium. The Warriors scored 117 points at the season-opening outdoor event to finish second in the team standings.

  • Event: Meet For Milwaukee
  • Final Results: 2nd of 4 (117 Points)
  • Location: Raabe Stadium, Wauwatosa, Wis.

  • Senior Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) won both the 100m and 200m with meet record times of 12.18 and 25.17 seconds, respectively. The marks were also good for second and third nationally.
  • Junior Grace Weide (Waterford, Wis.) placed first in both the 100m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles also in meet record marks of 16.50 and 1:11.51, respectively.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) won the High Jump by clearing a height of 1.43m. Junior Kayla Pagel (Kenosha, Wis.) also won the Hammer Throw with a toss of 31.83m.

  • "The weather was definitely not our friend today, but we put up some great performances! Several PR's and three WLC Top 10 performances to go with four meet records and nine event wins when we only had one-third of our team shows we're starting outdoor ready to go. I'm excited to see what happens next week when our whole team competes in Indiana." - Head coach Eric Kramer

  • The Warriors travel to Hanover, Indiana next Saturday for the Hanover Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CST.
