Eight Wins, Two Records Lead Warriors To Invite Title

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's outdoor track & field team played host to a nine-team field at the Green and White Invite at Raabe Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors took first in the invitational, scoring 233 points behind eight first-place finishes and eight runner-up finishes.

Senior Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) captured both the 200m and 400m titles with finishing school-record times of 24.42 and 57.94 seconds, respectively.
Junior Grace Weide (Waterford, Wis.) won both the 100m Hurdle and 400m Hurdle events with times of 15.62 seconds and 1:09.06, respectively.
Freshman Rachel Romens (Slinger, Wis.) recorded a final leap of 10.84m to win the Triple Jump. Romens also placed eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.71 seconds.
Junior Kayla Pagel (Kenosha, Wis.) placed first in both the Shot Put and Discus, recording distances of 9.62m and 30.12m, respectively. Pagel also finished runner-up in the Hammer.
The Warriors' 4x400m relay team of juniors Ashlee Mueller (Fredonia, Wis.), Brooke Graesslin (Janesville, Wis.), Weide, and Schumacher finished first with a time of 4:07.38.
Graesslin finished second behind her teammate in the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.20.
Junior Mikaela Sullivan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) placed second for the Warriors in the 1,500m run, crossing the line with a time of 5:02.16. Sullivan finished third in the 800m run with a final time of 2:31.54.
Freshman Stephanie Schafer (Lake Mills, Wis.) finished runner-up in the Shot Put with a final toss of 8.89m, third in the Discus at 22.83m, and fourth in the Hammer at 27.96m.
Sophomore Savanah Bland (Seneca, Ill.) and senior Christina Biffert (Fond du Lac, Wis.) placed second and third in the 5,000m with times of 22:21.18 and 22:28.39, respectively. Freshman Lydia Nelson (Green Bay, Wis.) crossed the line fifth for WLC in 24:14.13.
WLC's 4x100m relay team of freshman Abigail Pechman (Savannah, Ga.), Romens, and sophomores Mattie Stutzman (Burlington, Wis.), and Janae Jensen (Slinger, Wis.) placed second with a time of 52.27 seconds.
Freshman Alisa Walker (Chesapeake, Va.) came in second in the Pole Vault with a cleared height of 2.05m.
Freshman Camille Juga (Racine, Wis.) finished third in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump to earn WLC points.
Junior Paige Sweem (Kalispell, Mont.) finished second in the Javelin with a distance of 30.02m and third in the Hammer with a throw of 29.16m.
Freshmen Emily Meiller (Madison, Wis.) and Claire Trietsch (Trafalgar, Ind.) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the High Jump.
Mueller placed fourth for WLC in the 400m at 1:03.80, while junior Emily Herried (Necedah, Wis.) came in sixth at 1:07.25.
Sophomore Olivia Baker (Hillsboro, Ore.) recorded a distance of 24.52m in the Hammer to earn fifth place.
The trio of Jensen, Pechman, and Stutzman finished consecutively at fifth, sixth, and seventh to score for WLC in the 100m dash.
Sophomore Anna Raasch (Germantown, Wis.) completed the 200m dash in 26.57 seconds to earn sixth place.
Senior Micayla Bork (San Jose, Calif.) recorded a distance of 4.42m to finish sixth in the Long Jump.

The Warriors will compete next Saturday at the St. Norbert Quad at Donald J. Schneider Stadium in De Pere. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
