Women's Track & Field Finishes Fourth At NACC Championships

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's outdoor track & field team won two events and set two school records at the 2022 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday at Raabe Stadium. The Warriors scored 89 points and finished fourth out of 11 total teams at the two-day event.

  • The Warriors' 4x400m Relay team of sophomore Anna Raasch (Germantown, Wis.), junior Brooke Graesslin (Janesville, Wis.), junior Grace Weide (Waterford, Wis.), and senior Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) won the event in a facility, conference championship, and school-record time of 3:53.39. The mark ranks 15th nationally.
  • Schumacher won her first conference crown by sprinting to the title of the 200m with a time of 24.48 seconds. She also finished runner-up in the 100m with a time of 12.05 seconds.
  • Graesslin set a new school record in the 800m with her second-place finishing time of 2:17.10. 
  • WLC's 4x100m Relay squad of freshman Abigail Pechman (Savannah, Ga.), sophomore Janae Jensen (Slinger, Wis.), sophomore Mattie Stutzman (Burlington, Wis.), and Schumacher recorded a runner-up finish in 49.82 seconds.
  • Junior Grace Weide (Waterford, Wis.) brought home second and third place in the 100m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles, respectively, with times of 15.79 seconds and 1:06.62.
  • Raasch placed fourth in the 400m in 59.05 seconds and also scored points in the 200m by placing seventh in 26.46 seconds.
  • Freshman Liz Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) collected 3,558 points for a third-place finish in the Heptathlon. She was also eighth in the Long Jump at 4.94m. 
  • Junior Mikaela Sullivan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) posted a fourth-place finish in the 1,500m run of 5:01.07, while also securing a sixth-place finish in the 800m in 2:26.30.
  • Freshman Rachel Romens (Slinger, Wis.) placed fifth in the Triple Jump at 10.76m. 
  • Junior Paige Sweem (Kalispell, Mont.) took home seventh place in the Javelin with a mark of 30.75m.
  • Senior Natalie Lendt (Watertown, S.D.) also scored in the Heptathlon by placing sixth with 3,383 points.

  • The Warriors will next compete on Thursday in Naperville, Illinois at the Carius/Gregory Track & Field Meet hosted by North Central. Field events begin at 11 a.m. with running events to follow at 3 p.m.
