Romens Wins High Jump, Sets Triple Jump Record At Beloit Relays

BELOIT, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Senior Rachel Romens (Slinger, Wis.) won the High Jump and set a school record in the Triple Jump to lead a select group of Wisconsin Lutheran College athletes at the Beloit Relays on Saturday at Strong Stadium.

Romens won the 16-competitor High Jump by clearing the bar at 1.53m. She also finished second out of 18 entries in the Triple Jump with a school-record leap of 10.97m, surpassing Leah Rosenow's previous school record of 10.87m from April 18, 2019. 

Senior Ashlee Mueller (Fredonia, Wis.) placed fourth out of 18 competitors in the 400m with a time of 1:03.97. Junior Emily Meiller (Madison, Wis.) tied for sixth in the High Jump with a clearing mark of 1.33m.

Senior Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) posted a fifth-place finish out of 32 runners in the 1500m with a time of 4:12.55. Senior August Davis (Springfield, Ill.) scored a point in the High Jump by clearing 1.63m.

WLC hosts the Green & White Invitational next Saturday, April 20 at Raabe Stadium. Field events start at 9 a.m. and the first running event, the 10,000m, begins at 10:30 a.m. A link to live results can be found at WLCSports.com.
