WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Junior
Rachel Romens (Slinger, Wis.) broke an eight-year-old school record to win the High Jump and lead Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Private College Championships on Saturday at Carroll's Dennis Punches Track & Field Complex. The Warriors finished ninth with 30 points at the 13-team scoring event.
Romens won the High Jump with a personal-best and school-record mark of 1.60m, breaking the previous school record of 1.56m held by Kiana Granath from May 6, 2016. She also placed fourth in Triple Jump at 10.51m, and seventh in Long Jump at 4.98m.
In the 800m, senior
Ashlee Mueller (Fredonia, Wis.) finished third with a time of 2:24.16 and graduate student
Emily Herried (Necedah, Wis) finished seventh at 2:31.35.

Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) and
Natalie Punzel (Watertown, Wis.), and Herried was sixth with a time of 4:28.57. The 4x100m Relay team of Romens, juniors
Autumn Przybyla (Belvidere, Ill.) and
Liz Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.), and sophomore
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain) was seventh in 54.45 seconds.
Wisconsin Lutheran will compete in the Marquette Invitational on Friday, April 12. Long throws will start at 11 a.m., field events will begin at 1 p.m., and running events will commence at 5 p.m. A live results link can be found at WLCSports.com.
