JANESVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its opening weekend of competition at the Culver's-Edgewood Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday with a 13th-place finish at Glen Erin Golf Club.
The Warriors recorded a two-round team score of 313-307--320, moving up three spots following Friday's opening round.
Senior
Kale Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) tied for 35th overall to lead WLC with a 75-76--151. Freshman
Isaiah Schaser (Newburg, Wis.) tied for 50th with a 78-76--154. Freshman
Mason Weigle (Dixon, Ill.) tied for 68th with a 82-77--159, while junior
Riley Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) tied for 72nd with a 78-82--160. Junior
Luke Capstran (Oak Creek, Wis.) rounded out Wisconsin Lutheran's lineup with a 84-78--162.Â
Sophomore
Darren Niedfeldt (Beloit, Wis.) and freshman
Brycen Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) finished 40th and 43rd, respectively, for the Warriors' second squad. Niedfeldt carded a 75-77--152, while Tanzi turned in a 78-75--153.
UW-Stout topped the 22-team tournament field with a 287-286--573. Andrew Bauer of UW-Stout and Carter Ruegsegger of Dubuque shared medalist honors atop the 119-player field with identical rounds of 70-71--141.Â
WLC returns to the links on Friday, September 6 for the Judson Fall Invitational. Tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m. at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois.Â
