Warriors Resume Slate At St. Olaf Invitational

Neuwirth leads WLC in first 6K event

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College returned to the course for the first time in three weeks for the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday at St. Olaf Cross Country Course.

The Warriors finished 20th with 573 points at their first 6K event of the season.

Freshman Kirstin Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.) was WLC's top finisher, placing 163rd with a time of 27:30.0. Sophomore Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) finished 175th with a time of 28:00.3, and sophomore Natalie Punzel (Watertown, Wis.) finished 183rd with a time of 28:16.5. Sophomore Rachel Homan (New Lisbon, Wis.) finished 198th with a personal-best time of 28:52.4, and senior Louisa Felgenhauer (West Bend, Wis.) rounded out the scorers for Wisconsin Lutheran in 214th with time of 29:30.8.

Carleton won the 22-team scoring title with 35 points. Hannah Preisser of Carleton topped the 282-runner field with a winning 6K time of 21:57.8.

The Warriors return to action on Saturday, October 5 for the 24th annual Warrior Invitational at Greenfield Park in West Allis. The women's 6K race starts at 11 a.m.
