SUPERIOR, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College tied the third-lowest 36-hole score in program history on its way to a runner-up finish at the Twin Ports Collegiate played Saturday and Sunday at Nemadji Golf Course.
The Warriors carded a two-round tournament score of 296-310--606 for a second-place finish in the eight-team field.
Freshman
Isaiah Schaser (Newburg, Wis.) led WLC with a fourth-place finish in the 53-player field. His two-round score of 72-76--148 ties for fifth in program history. Senior
Kale Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) was seventh with a 75-76--151 and junior
Riley Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) was eighth with a 73-79--152.Â
Freshman
Mason Weigle (Dixon, Ill.) tied for 10th with a 76-79--155. Junior
Luke Capstran (Oak Creek, Wis.) rounded out the lineup with a 76-81--157 for a 17th-place tie. Senior
Luke Movrich (Appleton, Wis.), competing as an individual, was ninth with a 74-80--154.
Host UW-Superior fired a two-round total of 287-294--581 to win the tournament by 25 strokes. Andrew Rude and Conner Willard of UW-Superior shared medalist honors with identical scores of 71-69--140.Â
Wisconsin Lutheran is back on the links tomorrow for the first round of the Firebird Fall Classic. Tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Hawk's View Golf Club.
