WHISPERING PINES, N.C. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its spring season on Sunday and Monday at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational at Whispering Pines played at the The Country Club of Whispering Pines. The Warriors finished 15th with a 348-325--673.
Senior
Kale Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) tied for 53rd to lead WLC with an 83-78--161. Junior
Riley Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) tied for 61st with an 82-81--163, while freshman
Isaiah Schaser (Newburg, Wis.) also tied for 61st with an 86-77--163. Freshman
Brycen Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) was 89th with a 97-89--186. Junior
Luke Capstran (Oak Creek, Wis.) rounded out the lineup in 91st with 98-96--194.
Senior
Luke Movrich (Appleton, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran's B team with an 85-76--161 for a 53rd-place tie.
Carnegie Mellon B won the 16-team invitational with a 296-308--604. Eddie Ren of Rochester earned medalist honors in the 91-player field with a 70-73--143.
The Warriors return to the links March 31-April 1 for the Clarke Spring Invitational at Eagle Ridge North Course in Galena, Illinois. Tee times are scheduled for 9 a.m. both rounds.
