WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College carded its third-lowest team round of the season on Saturday en route to a second-place finish at the Morningstar Masters at Morningstar Golfers Club.
The Warriors totaled a team score of 298 (+10) for a runner-up finish at the 14-team tournament. WLC finished five shots back of team champion Lake Forest (293). Nathan Thomson of St. Norbert earned medalist honors in the 80-player field with a 68 (-4).
Freshman
Isaiah Schaser (Newburg, Wis.) tied for second with a 72 (E) to lead WLC. Schaser dropped four birdies, including a 34 on the front 9, to tie his lowest round of the season.
Freshman
Brayden Bode (Oak Creek, Wis.) and senior
Luke Movrich (Appleton, Wis.) tied for 12th with a 75 (+3). Bode, who carded a 37 on the back 9, tied a season low round. Senior
Kale Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) tied for 20th with a 76 (+4). Junior
Riley Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) tied for 41st with a 79 (+7).
Sophomore
Darren Niedfeldt (Beloit, Wis.) tied for 12th for Wisconsin Lutheran's B team with a career-low 75 (+3).
The Warriors compete next at the Judson Spring Invitational on Monday at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois.
