GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its 2025 women's cross country season on Saturday at the Tom Barry Invitational hosted by St. Norbert at Shorewood Cross Country Course. The Warriors finished 10th out of 11 scoring teams, which featured a pair of in-state Division I squads, with 282 points.
Sophomore
Kirstin Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.) was the top Warriors' finisher, placing 55th with a 5K time of 21:32.3. Freshman
Maddie Metz (Chino Valley, Ariz.) was 70th with a time of 22:30.4 in her first collegiate race.
Senior
Sylvia Walentowski (Neenah, Wis.) was 81st with a time of 23:11.4, junior
Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) was 83rd with a time of 23:14.6, and junior
Rachel Homan (New Lisbon, Wis.) rounded out WLC's team score in 85th with a time of 23:17.9.Â
Concordia Wisconsin had three finishers within the top-5 to claim the team scoring title with 51 points. Ainara Sainz de Rozas of Concordia Wisconsin topped the 121-runner field with a time of 18:09.9.
Wisconsin Lutheran competes next at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, September 20. The 5K race is scheduled for an 8:45 a.m. start.
