MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College finished ninth at the Rhodes Invitational on Saturday at Shelby Farms Park. The Warriors totaled 254 points.
Sophomore Kirsten Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.) was the first Warrior to cross the finish line, recording a personal-best 5K time of 21:02.07. Freshman
Maddie Metz (Chino Valley, Ariz.) finished 57th with a season-best time of 21:31.79. Senior
Sylvia Walentowski (Neenah, Wis.) finished 67th with a personal-best time of 22:26.77. Junior
Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) finished 73rd with a time of 22:45.66, and freshman
Brooke Hodkiewicz (Oconto Falls, Wis.) finished 82nd with a season-best time of 23:33.48 to round out the top-five finishers for Wisconsin Lutheran.
Arkansas State had three runners finish in the top-10 to finish with 40 points and win the 13-team invitational. Memphis' Ann Marie Braese won the 107-runner 5K race with a time of 18:15.49.
Wisconsin Lutheran next competes at the Blugold Invitational on Friday, October 3 in Colfax. The 6K race is set to start at 5:15 p.m.
