CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College turned in several personal and season-best performances at the Aurora Grand Prix on Saturday at Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center.
Senior
Leah Schmidt (Bonduel, Wis.) led the way in the throwing events, recording a season-best mark of 10.44m in the Shot Put to finish 12th overall. Schmidt also competed in the Weight Throw, where she was 12th with a toss of 12.26m.
Sophomore
Sofia Mueller added a pair of personal records in the throws. She placed 16th in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.15m and followed that up with a PR of 11.80m in the Weight Throw, also finishing 16th. Sophomore
Aubrey Hemmings-Kadolph contributed a season-best effort of 8.49m in the Shot Put.
On the track, freshman
Lucy Luedtke (Marshfield, Wis.) clocked a personal-record time of 1:07.04 in the 400m, while sophomore
Kirstin Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.) ran a PR of 11:40.12 in the 3000m. Junior
Rachel Homan (New Lisbon, Wis.) also recorded a personal best in the 3000m, finishing in 11:58.88.
The Warriors closed the meet with a season-best performance in the 4x400m Relay, as the quartet of junior
Madelyn Vanderhoof (Watertown, Wis.), freshman
Calliope Horn (San Diego, Calif.), freshman
Brooke Hodkiewicz (Oconto Falls, Wis.), and junior
Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) finished eighth with a time of 4:30.25.
WLC competes next Friday and Saturday at the Leonard 'Squig" Converse Invitational & Multi hosted by UW-Whitewater.
