RIPON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College scored 14 points and recorded 10 personal-best marks for a seventh-place team finish at the Red Hawk Invite on Saturday at Willmore Center.
On the track, freshman
Calliope Horn (San Diego, Calif.) led the Warriors with a seventh-place finish in the 800m, clocking a personal-record 2:27.65 to score two points. Fellow freshman
Maddie Metz (Chino Valley, Ariz.) also delivered a points finish, placing seventh in the 3,000m with a personal-best time of 11:34.09. WLC's 4x400m Relay of freshman
Lucy Luedtke (Marshfield, Wis.), junior
Madelyn Vanderhoof (Watertown, Wis.), sophomore
Kirstin Neuwirth (New Berlin, Wis.), and junior
Madelyn Beyer (Appleton, Wis.) added five more points with a fourth-place showing in 4:30.59.
In the field events, junior
Marin Schibbelhut (Onalaska, Wis.) posted the top result of the day for Wisconsin Lutheran, tying for fourth in the High Jump after clearing a personal-record 1.50m. Freshman
Jaci Volp (Fremont, Wis.) also recorded a top-10 finish in the High Jump, placing 10th with a personal-best mark of 1.35m. Sophomore
Amelia Kelley (Appleton, Wis.) also cleared a personal-record height of 2.75m in the Pole Vault for 10th place. Senior
Leah Schmidt (Bonduel, Wis.) cracked the top-10 in the Shot Put, finishing 10th with a throw of 10.74m.
St. Norbert claimed the team title with 138.5 points, as the Green Knights won seven events at the meet.
The Warriors return to action next Friday and Saturday at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan.
