FOXFIRE VILLAGE, N.C. – Wisconsin Lutheran College placed 10th at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at Foxfire Resort & Golf.
The Warriors posted a two-round team score of 645 after improving by 21 strokes on the second day with a 312. WLC opened the tournament with a 333 on Monday.
Senior
Riley Tanzi (West Bend, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with a tie for 54th place after carding a 12-over-par 156. Tanzi shot rounds of 79 and 77 during the two-day event.
Sophomore
Brayden Bode (Oak Creek, Wis.) and freshman
Braden Naumann (Hartland, Wis.) each tied for 82nd with scores of 162 (+18). Bode recorded rounds of 82 and 80, while Naumann rebounded from an opening-round 87 with a team-best 75 in the second round.
Sophomore
Isaiah Schaser (Newburg, Wis.) finished tied for 90th with a 165 (+21) after rounds of 85 and 80. Junior
Luka Stojadinovic (Oak Creek, Wis.) rounded out the Warriors' lineup in 116th place with a 184 (+40), shooting 95 and 89.
Senior
Luke Capstran (Oak Creek, Wis.) was WLC's top finisher from its B team, tying for 57th with a 79-78--157 (+13). Sophomore
Caleb DeRuiter (Milwaukee, Wis.) was the top individual player with an 81-78--159 (+15).
Carnegie Mellon's B team won the tournament with a team score of 568 (282-286). Charlie Hubbard of Carnegie Mellon earned individual medalist honors with a 6-under-par 138, firing rounds of 70 and 68.
Wisconsin Lutheran will return to the course March 29–30 at the Anderson Spring Invitational at Anderson Country Club in Anderson, Indiana.
