Boasting an overall record of 22-7, the 1995-1996 Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball team was the first in school history to earn a berth into a national tournament. The Warriors rattled off a program-record 14 straight wins en route to the best season to date in school history. WLC captured its first regular season conference championship after posting a 13-1 record in the Lake Michigan Conference. Wisconsin Lutheran, whose average margin of victory was 10.2 points, began its remarkable run by winning two games in the NAIA Great Lakes Sectional Tournament over Barat College (93-71) and Trinity International University (91-87). Entering the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament unseeded, the Warriors produced two of the tournament's biggest upsets, knocking off No. 6 St. Joseph's College (Maine) 90-74 and No. 11 Mt. Mercy College 70-68. WLC advanced to the quarterfinals facing No. 3 Albertson College, where it fell to the eventual national champions 87-79. Team members included Tim Arndorfer, Clint Baer, Seth Borchardt, Andrew Duncan, Scott Frey, Dale Gerke, Jason Hahn, Kon Knueppel, David Kramer, Dan Leffel, David Micheel, Steve Mihalik, Brad Roney, Chris Stelzer, and Brett Valerio. The coaching staff included head coach Skip Noon, assistants Todd Biesterfeld and the late Wayne Rasmussen, and student assistant Rachel (Willems) Kuehl.
