Kaylan Gaines established himself as one of the premier pass rushers in Northern Athletics Conference history. The Lake Worth, Florida, native became the first player in Warriors football history to receive a conference Player of the Year award, earning NAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2010. Gaines racked up 13.0 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks en route to the first winning season in program history. The NAC's all-time sacks leader, Gaines finished his four-year (2007-2010) career as the program's leader in sacks with 30.5. A two-time First Team All-NAC selection, Gaines holds four of the top six single season sacks records. He is also second in career tackles for loss (43.5), third in career fumbles forced (5), fourth in career fumbles recovered (5), and seventh in career unassisted tackles (134). Gaines also earned three conference Student-Athlete of the Week awards, was a conference Scholar-Athlete his senior year, and was a 2008 Second Team All NAC selection.
