Paul Nelson is the only Wisconsin Lutheran College male student-athlete to receive first team all-conference honors in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. Nelson played football for the Warriors from 1999-2003 and twice received all-conference recognition from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. He garnered Honorable Mention recognition in 2002 and First Team honors in 2003. Nelson set program records for receptions (207), receiving yards (2,739), and receptions per game (5.59). He ranks second in receiving touchdowns (20) and fifth in points scored (126). Nelson also holds single season records for receptions (73), receiving yards (980), and receptions per game (7.30), all set during the 2003 season. As a key member of the Warriors men's basketball team from 1999-2003, Nelson received postseason honors from the Lake Michigan Conference three times. He received Honorable Mention and All-Rookie honors in 1999-2000. Nelson netted the LMC Player of the Year award in 2001-2002, the seventh straight year a Warriors player received the award, and was an All-LMC selection his senior year. Nelson ranks 13th on the all-time scoring list with 1,089 points and is second all-time in field goal percentage (.507). He helped the Warriors win two LMC regular season championships his freshman and junior seasons. Nelson also played baseball at WLC from 2000-2002 and was named to the All-LMC team following the 2001 season after hitting .457 in league play.Â
