Hall of Fame
A pivotal piece to the most successful four-year cycle in Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf history, Jacob Mortell became the second player in program history to receive conference Player of the Year honors. The 2015-2016 Roger Fleming Player of the Year and two-time All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference selection was in the Warriors' lineup for their first two NCAA Championship appearances. Mortell tied for fifth overall at the 2014-2015 NACC Championship, the same season WLC won its first conference title via a one-hole playoff. One year later, he earned NACC medalist honors by one shot with a four-round championship record score for his first career victory, and WLC claimed its second consecutive conference title by a 14-stroke margin. Ranked in the top-10 in NACC scoring average three of his four seasons (2012-2016), the Eden Prairie, Minnesota, native recorded 11 career top-10 finishes. Mortell, a two-time NACC Student-Athlete of the Week and NACC Scholar-Athlete as a senior, ranks fourth in career scoring (78.5) and fifth in season scoring (76.4). His career-low 1-under par 70 is tied for fourth in program history.
