A sprint and hurdle specialist who bounced back from an injury midway through her career at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Amanda (Markham) Frier went on to become one of the most accomplished Warriors women's track & field athletes. Frier was the second athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships after she posted the nation's top time in the 400m Hurdles of 1:00.52 on May 12, 2016 at the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Illinois. The top mark earned her All-Region and National Athlete of the Week status by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). A five-time Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) champion, Frier was named the 2012 NACC Outdoor Freshman of the Meet after winning both the 100m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles. The Oostburg, Wisconsin, native graduated with and currently holds five school records in the 55m Hurdles (8.59), 60m Hurdles (9.30), 100m Hurdles (14.86), 400m Hurdles (1:00.52), and the 400m (58.88). Frier finished her illustrious career at WLC with 85 top-10 finishes and 23 event victories. She was a four-time NACC Student-Athlete of the Week and four-time NACC Scholar-Athlete.
